Oh yeah, being in shape can be fun... ;)

Wow, I love running. Sometimes, it is just the best. I particularly love running in new places. I find it critical in my understanding my surroundings. This morning during my run, the first hour felt sluggish. I always feel slightly heavy after travels, dragging my feet a little, eying the bodies of water around me, wondering if the water is potable, wondering how guilty I will feel if I stop earlier than planned. This morning was no different. However, when I hit that hour hump, some switch turned on, and I felt alive. I started to feel light, and speedy. I started picking up my feet faster, and running on my toes rather than on my heels. The tension in my chest was released. Maybe it was the song that came on my iPod, maybe it was a change in the scenery that I hadn't noticed, or maybe it was that I realized that I was in London, running around Kensington Gardens, reveling in how cool that felt. Either way, I stopped wanting to stop. I wanted to go forever. I sped up for a few strides, then settled back into a more maintainable rhythm. Then I sped up again for kicks, seeing how long I could hold onto it before starting to feel the lactic acid burn. Turns out, not very long. :P But no worries, just slowed back down again, and went on for a bit, enjoying the sights.

Like, the ferris wheel:

The cool mirror sculptures:

Oh - and the ROWING boats!!

I contemplated hijacking one, but decided that it would be unwise, and also, considerably less fun without an accomplice. ;)

Oh, I also most definitely saw a man running in a JL uni. Straight up uni with nothing else, top up and all. I unfortunately did not document this, as this was during a different run, when I did not bring my camera. I also saw another man in metallic, magenta long spandex. I love London.
